Fed: Motorcycle smash brings road toll figure to 13

SYDNEY, April 7 AAP - The national road toll has risen to 13 after a 19-year-old man
died in Victoria early today.

The man died just before 5am (AEST) after being thrown from a motorcycle at the corner
of Boundary and Governor Roads at Braeside, in Melbourne's south-east, police said.

A second man, who was a pillion passenger on the bike, is in a serious but stable condition.

The death brings Victoria's Easter road toll to four, one higher than than last year's
total for the holiday period.

NSW has recorded six road deaths, Queensland two and the ACT one.

Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory remain fatality-free
at this stage.
